Hawaii

Many people look at Hawaii as being expensive, but it is all about finding sales. A regular plane ticket to Hawaii is over a thousand dollars but I was able to book tickets for $570.64 round trip per person. I traveled to the island of Maui in December 2017, which was the season for whales. Since Hawaii is part of the U.S. there were a lot of decorations for Christmas although the island didn’t get snow.

Where I stayed:

I stayed at the Kaanapali Beach hotel, but there were a bunch of other great hotels in the same area that you could stay at as well. I rented a car because since this is an island there was not a lot of public transportation.

Things to do:

show performers- maui

Make sure you attend a Luau. A Luau is a Hawaiian party where they play music, dance, and feast on delicious food. There are a lot of Luau offered in the area, so you can choose one that is convenient for you.

Visiting the Maui Tropical Plantation allowed us to see a variety of trees and flowers. The plantation also offers a tram ride that takes you through the plantation to see how pineapples and sugarcane are created. This planation also offered zip line and had restaurants.

black sand beach- maui
I visited the black sand beach that was located in Waianapanapa State Park. This was a 2 hour and 44-minute drive but was worth it once you arrived. It is not exactly black sand it is really black rocks.

mountains- maui
Visiting Iao Valley State Monument had amazing views of the mountains.
Maui Ocean Center is the aquarium that had beautiful animals and species that I have never seen before.
There will be plenty of random beaches, restaurants, and stores that you can visit while on the island.
