Athens, Greece

me acropolis- greece

Visiting Athens, Greece was on my bucket list because I have always wanted to see the Acropolis. Yes, I have a bucket list I know it is so cliché. But, I believe when we set goals, we will strive harder to accomplish them. I went to Athens for my birthday celebration in March 2016. FYI: Athens was slightly cold in March. We stayed at the Parthenon Hotel which was a 4-star hotel.

Things to do:

We took a hop on hop off bus and was able to visit a lot of these sites within the same day. Visiting the Acropolis was so surreal. The Acropolis is on top of a high hill and you will have to walk up the hill and steps to see this beautiful site. Once you reach the top the view is astonishing! When purchasing the tour to see the Acropolis, you are also able to see a ‘stone theater’ called Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Parthenon, and the Temple of  Athena Nike. (Our ticket for the Acropolis tour was 12.00 Euros)

Acropolis Museum inside

Visiting the Acropolis Museum allowed me to learn more about the Acropolis, settlements, Athenian people, sanctuaries, and more. The museum has four floors and it cost 5.00 Euros to enter.
